Kharlovka Week 23 report (03-10 June 2023)

Morning air temperature range: 1.1C – 10.1C
Water temperature range: 4.4C – 7.4C
Water level has risen from 37 cm to 64 cm due to the rain.

Number of rods: 10
Total for the week: 46 fish

The biggest fish of the week – 44.5 pounds (20.2 kg) landed by Sergey on Eastern Litza, Military Pool.

Last week was not easy but a great beginning of a new season in ASR! Despite the tough conditions of the arctic spring, constant drizzling rain, strong wind and cold temperatures we have finished the week with a decent result of 46 salmon.

On the low water days we caught fish throughout the whole Kharlovka river and when the level had risen the fish were concentrating on the lower pools starting from Hoom pool.

Monday was the most challenging in terms of weather. Strong wind up to 20 m/s in gusts turned the fishing into an extreme activity. Our young fisherman David was brave enough to go down to the home pool in the evening and landed a beautiful 10-pounds (4.5 kg) salmon there.

Rain has raised the level of water up to 63 cm and by Wednesday the wind calmed which allowed Elena to comfortably fish on Eastern Litza, land and take a picture of a great 25-pounder (11.3 kg).

At the same time Vladimir on the opposite side of a Snow Bank has landed two fresh salmon including a big fat 31.5 pounder (14.3 kg).

Sergey started Wednesday by warming up on the Snow Bank pool where he caught a couple of kelts. He went further to the Military pool and had no idea that the biggest fish of his life was there waiting for him.

A phenomenal salmon with 44.5 pounds weight became a worthy award for our friend!

The sun was shining through the clouds during the whole day. Calmer winds made it perfect to fish and Alex took advantage of this. In the first half of the day he landed two nice fresh fish on Eastern Litza Military pool for 16 and 24 pounds. Then he got back to Kharlovka and finished his fishing day with a new personal best of 25 pounds (11.3 kg).

Great company and challenging spring fishing.
See you soon!
