Great opening week of the season! Despite the difficult arctic spring weather conditions with days of constant drizzle and low air temperature, we finished this week with a decent result of 111 salmon. All the anglers this week were our old friends, who have spent spent multiple seasons at the Kharlovka camp.
Overall, it was quite a memorable week full of good emotions and significant fish.
Fishing Highlights included:
Sergey with a solid 20 pounder (9.1Kg) that was landed in the Barrel pool on a Willie Gunn.
Sunny days with mild air temps into the teens and lots of silver salmon running into the rivers! Vladimir Jr. led the way landing 20 good fish up to 20 pounds during the week. Photo of a 16 pounder that was released in Julian’s pool on the lower Kharlovka.
Sergey had a memorable time on the lower Litza Military pool early week landing 3 bright fresh salmon including this 15 pounder (6.8kg) all on Gena's Green Highlander. Sergey was back on the lower Litza again yesterday for round II landing 6 more bright fresh salmon including a stunning 33 pounder (15kg) that sadly managed to get away without a photo. All Sergey's salmon on the Litza were landed on a Mikke Pearson tube which is a green bodied Sun Ray variant.
Cool spring conditions to end the week with rain and fresh morning air temps of 5C - the water temp was 10C. Sergey with another solid 17 pounder (7.7kg) that was landed on a Francis tube in the Litza Snowbank pool.
Maxim with a solid 22 pounder (10kg) salmon to end the week from the Litza Red Cliff pool that was landed on a Willie Gunn.
