Kharlovka Week 27 report (01 – 08 July 2023)
Number of rods: 14
Despite the capricious weather and dropping water level our guests manage to land 162 salmon for a week.
Oleg and Ivan went to the Eastern Litza to overnight. They started the first day from the Dream pool and by the evening they were supposed to reach the home Tent pool. Oleg landed a 33-pounder (15 kg) on the Rugged Rock and continued this year’s encouraging statistics on the number of salmon landed over 30 pounds.
Rain added some water level in the rivers and the anglers were trying different tactics and methods with passion to provoke the jumping fish to take a fly.
Father and son (Yury and Mikhail) had two successful fishing days on Kharlovka and Litza. On the right bank of the Flat Stone pool Mikhail under the guidance of Igor managed to land his personal best. The fish showed several times however they managed to land it only on the third swing by using the right fly and the angle of presentation. The young angler could hardly hold the 10 kg fish to take a picture.
Camp manager Max was guiding Yury, they were fishing on the lower Kharlovka. In the tail of Julian’s pool they saw a big male salmon. They changed the fly quickly, made a precise and qualified cast and then enjoyed the moment when the big fish came up to the surface and took the fly. A fat male salmon of 22lb (10 kg) was a great end to the fishing week.
We are pleased that these two family records happened before our eyes and that we were the direct participants of these events.
