Kharlovka week 28 starting 10th July

Greame (our old friend and an excellent fisherman), Oleg (who works as a seller in Farlows Moscow) and Alexander (known in small circles as a travel blogger). The trio had a memorable week bonding together going on to release 41 salmon on the week.

Graeme’s experience prevailed as he caught the most, and some of the bigger, fish. Among the 20 fish captured by himself, there were such solid catches as 25lb and 20lb fish.

Since Oleg is an employee of Farlows, his preparations for fishing were the most difficult. Each of his colleagues tried to share their fishing experience with Oleg, but sometimes this experience was so different that it was difficult to determine who was worth listening to. Despite this, as soon as Oleg came to our lodge and fell into the hands of an experienced guide Big Alex, everything immediately began to clear up, let alone saying how much Oleg improved his casting from the left hand. As a result, Oleg managed to catch and release 9 fish, including his personal record - 15lbs salmon.

However, they say that beginners are lucky. Before coming to our lodge, Alexander managed to take only seven lessons on casting, he received all the other skills fishing on the river. By the end of the week, Alexander managed not only to catch his first salmon on a fly, but also to get ahead of all other anglers by landing the largest salmon for the week of 28lbs.
