Kharlovka camp fishing summary for week 25 starting 19th June 2021
Another memorable fishing week has passed on camp and unfortunately due to ongoing international travel restrictions and complications - it turned out to be quite intimate with a small group of 4 guests plus Vladimir that had the rivers to themselves.
Conditions during the week were favourable with mostly cloudy skies and light rains - mild air temps - along with consistent perfect water temps of 12C for the duration. Water levels rose slowly some 10cm over the course of the week.
Maxim had a couple of the best fish of the week at with a solid 30 pounder in the Litza Spawning pool. Three casts later Max hooked a 25 pounder that he eventually caught up with and released far downstream. His magnificent catch inspired the others and led to great camaraderie on camp as fishing secrets were openly shared resulting in flocking to the Farlows camp shop to purchase more of the same flies that were used.
The Eastern Litza river is a favourite of many! - beautifully rugged with boulders the size of a trucks and lots of Big salmon. Andrew with his new PB - 31 pounder that was released on his first time ever fishing the Lower Tent pool. Scale samples later revealed that this salmon was returning back to the river for the second time to spawn again later this fall.
Na Zdorovie!
Another hero was Roman who managed to break his personal best three times in a row with a final result of 27 pounds (landed on the Kharlovka falls).
Vladimir lead the way releasing 20 good salmon on the week.
Oleg and Ivan also an exciting time landing 7 salmon weighing 20 pounds or more. One fine day on the upper Kharlovka Oleg landed a brace of 22 pounders that was followed on by another 20 pounder from Guys pool. All fish were hooked and released on the ‘guide's fly' - a Big Alex tube special!
Great week with 5 guests - friends going on to release 80 good salmon on the week.
Safe travels and Tight lines from Team Kharlovka
